Lesson Introduction

When you connect your computer to the Internet, your computer software and
data are accessible to the rest of the world. Connecting to the Internet
increases the threat to your computer from viruses, spyware, and hackers.
However, you can minimize these security threats by configuring the
security settings on your computer and keeping security-related software
up-to-date.

In this lesson, you will learn how to maximize the security of your
computer by configuring the security settings on your operating system. The
lesson also explains how to configure your computer to automatically update
its security software.Lesson Objectives
