The Institute of the Information Society (IIS), one of the leading advocates of the empowering capabilities of IT training in Russia agrees partnership with ALISON

Moscow, April 25th, 2008.

The Institute of the Information Society (IIS) is an independent research and service organization with the goal of developing the ‘Information Society’ within the Russian Federation. The IIS is working towards Russia's full integration into the global information society.

The IIS has agreed to translate ALISON interactive courseware into the Russian language. Both parties are in agreement that the successful outcome of this partnership will result in many millions of Russians gaining access to the highest-quality online interactive training for free via the ALISON platform. Russia has the fastest-growing number of Internet users in Europe. The IIS believes that providing Russian-language access to ALISON’s content will significantly aid its mission to facilitate and encourage the growth of the information society in Russia.

Announcing the agreement, ALISON CEO Mike Feerick commented: “The ALISON Team are delighted to reach agreement with such a prestigious institute, to extend the ALISON mission of free access to high-quality education for all throughout the Russian-speaking regions of the world.” The Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors Mr. Yuri Hohlov added, “the IIS is committed to supporting the most innovative learning solutions online, and the success of its free learning platform made ALISON a logical and exciting partner to work with.” Mr Hohlov also praised the proactive commitment of the ALISON team to expanding free learning opportunities within the Russian Federation.

In recent months, ALISON has entered into agreements with a wide variety of translation and localization partners worldwide. Plans are underway or near completion to make ALISON courseware available in French, Tamil, Spanish, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian. ALISON invites organizations interested in localizing ALISON courseware or marketing localized content within their regions to contact ALISON. (http://alison.com/contact).
