ALISON, the online learning website, today officially announced the release of a new free online course on how to create your very own Podcasts. Podcast refer to a series of online video or audio broadcasts that are released episodically and often downloaded through web syndication. They are used in a variety of spheres to dissemination information to end-users including news, politics, music, sports and entertainment.
They can also be used by students and teachers to share information. For example, podcast recordings can be used as a preparation tool for students prior to classes; as a study aid for weaker students or those who missed classes; or to communicate curriculum, assignment and other information with parents and the community.
In the video-lessons you will learn:
• How to download and set up the software to record podcasts
• How to create your first recording
• How to add effects and improve sound quality
• How to add information to the podcast
• How to upload your podcast online
• How to imbed podcasts into your website
• How to share your recording with friends and family
The video-based tutorials are delivered by the award-winning multimedia teacher and Warwick University teaching fellow Russell Stannard. The lessons will give potential podcasters the knowledge and skills to create their own recordings on any subject and then share it online with friends and family.
The course is free, self-paced and learners are entitled to an ALISON Certificate on completion of the learning assessment. To access the online interactive course click on the following link
