Advertising on ALISON

GALWAY, Ireland (8 September, 2008) - ALISON, the free learning Web site, today launches its “Advertising on ALISON” service. From today, advertisers can promote their goods and services to over 100,000 ALISON learners worldwide. While the majority of ALISON Web traffic currently comes from the United Kingdom, followed closely by the United States, advertisers on ALISON can target learners studying specific courses in any country. ALISON has registered learners in over 230 countries and territories; effectively everywhere in the world.

Launching the new service, Mike Feerick, ALISON CEO, commented: “Due to the detailed personal profiles of many ALISON learners, the ALISON platform has the capability to offer accurately targeted advertising to any suitable advertiser. The initial rates are priced at a significant discount compared to current market rates, and as a result we expect to attract a high number of early adopters as we launch the direct advertising service.” Up to now, ALISON has used Google AdSense exclusively in its advertising space. Feerick continued: “Although we will continue to use Google’s excellent AdSense service where necessary, ALISON can now offer guaranteed placements to any organization who see the sense and value of full-time advertising direct to their target-market.”
