Treat your Business to a Technology Check Up with Tech-Check

Have a Technology Check of your Business by an Independent Expert

A new €2 million initiative enabling small businesses to get subsidised technology 'check-ups' was launched in April.

The 'Tech-Check' programme, which is being rolled out by the 35 County and City Enterprise Boards (CEBs) in Ireland, will allow up to 2,000 individual firms each year to get a full ICT audit. This should help them identify ways to boost productivity and profitability through technology use.

Tech-Check is an innovative new programme to help owners and managers of small businesses in Ireland to take a fresh look at how they can use technology to improve their business productivity and gain competitive advantage.

All small businesses can now avail of an independent Adviser to work with them to examine the most effective use of their existing technology as well as examining ways for improvement. Using a standard diagnostic tool, the Adviser will spend approximately one day (or two half-days) working with the business owner to assess current use of technology in the business, and identify opportunities for its development. The Adviser will then provide the owner/manager with an electronic/written action plan detailing practical solutions for the improvement of the business using technology.

Sean Griffin, Learner Outreach & Development Manager, ALISON said:

"Tech-Check can identify how businesses in Ireland can boost profitability through technology use. ALISON can improve the use of technology within a business by training staff in ICT essential skills through online courses like ECDL. Combining these resources can greatly add to both productivity and profitability."

The cost of the service is €150 (the price is subsidised by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment).

If you are interested in participating in Tech-Check, please contact your local County or City Enterprise Board for an application form.
