Market-Entry Strategy Competition with Tsinghua University, China

ALISON was delighted to sponsor a competition at Tsinghua University, one of Asia's most prestigious institutes of learning and alma mater of China’s President, Hu Jintao. The competition for business students was to develop an online marketing market-entry strategy for ALISON into China. The competition was enthusiastically engaged with by some of China’s very best and brightest students. Mike Feerick, CEO of ALISON commended the students for the excellence of their competition entries and commented: "When one sees such excellent work, it is clearer than ever that China will lead the world in technology and Internet-based services much more quickly than experts currently predict."

The winners of the competition will be announced in the week commencing December 10, 2007. Since launching its service in April 2007, ALISON has attracted several thousand learners from China with no direct promotion. Many Chinese learners on ALISON use the service to practice their English language comprehension as the 'See-Hear-Do' presentation of the interactive multimedia content reinforces English language understanding at the same time as ICT and typing skills are being taught.
