ALISON announced that it is collaborating with the Global Learning Portal (GLP - http://www.glp.net/home). ALISON educational resources have now been made available to the Global Learning Portal's network of educators worldwide. The GLP supports country-level and regional education projects that link teachers, ministries, and educational organizations, by hosting and creating content libraries, spaces for virtual collaboration, and distance-learning modules.

ALISON is also working with the GLP's Higher Education Project (HEP - http://hep.glp.net/home) in Afghanistan to provide ICT training to its teacher network. The Afghanistan Higher Education Project is part of an overall USAID programme to rehabilitate and strengthen the capacity of the education system, so as to improve access to quality education throughout Afghanistan.

The GLP and the HEP are both projects of the Academy for Educational Development (AED - http://www.aed.org). The AED is a non-profit organization working globally to improve education, health, civil society and economic development. ALISON is particularly proud to be collaborating with the GLP, and excited about the potential for leveraging our mutual regional alliances and partnerships with international organizations, to increase access to high-quality online learning materials throughout the developing world.
