ALISON has an immediate need for a Senior Software Developer/PHP Programmer to assist in the efficient management of both the Programming (80%) and Systems Administration (20%) functions and teams within the company. This person will help to further develop a world-leading website for online education and training.

As a key part of a small team, the successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities: from extending the capabilities of our IT architecture (PHP, MySQL), to high-end application development and general systems administration/network management as well as problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will have at least three years experience of developing Web-based applications using PHP/MySQL and of working as part of a team.

Candidates must possess at least three years experience in the IT industry. Ideal candidate will have experience of developing social networking features for Web 2.0 sites (e.g. Facebook, YouTube). A candidate with experience of learning management systems will have a distinct advantage.

Skills Required:

• Strong PHP

• LMS (Moodle)
• English (fluent)

Primary Duties:

• Managing and developing new tools and applications for the company’s e-learning portal, in cooperation with the Design and Multimedia department
• Maintenance and upgrading of existing applications
• Overseeing technical support
• Generating a weekly report of all IT-related activities within the company

Experience Level:

Three years IT industry, two years software development (Web 2.0) leadership role.
