How to Use the ALISON Forums

1) Choose the forum you are looking for:

- Course forums: there is a forum for each course on ALISON. Choose the forum for the course you are studying and you can interact with other learners worldwide.
- Volunteer forum : if you wish to help promote ALISON and spread the word about our online learning revolution, then join this forum for regular updates from our ALISON Volunteer Coordinator and to communicate with fellow volunteers.
- General Discussion forum : Anything else ALISON related, or topics of education of interest to you.


2) First read through some posts left by other users; there is a good chance someone may already have started a thread related to the topic you wish to discuss. If they have, you can click 'Reply' in this thread and add your post to the discussion.


3) If there is no thread where you feel your comment belongs, you can create a new discussion. On the top of the page, click 'Create a new discussion'. Fill in the box, choosing an appropriate subject heading so other learners will be able to determine if your thread is of interest to them. Click 'Post to forum ' and wait for replies!

By contributing to the forums, you can:
* Obtain answers to questions
* Explore specific aspects of a course
* Learn from other people's experience of the course
