We can accept learning content in almost any format; however, the easier it is for us to host online, the better chance you have of your content being published by ALISON. The easiest content to publish is content that is in "SCORM" compliant format. For those not familiar with this term, it simply means that the content can be readily hosted on a learning management system such as ALISON.
A lot of content today resides in PDF, Word or PowerPoint format. What is of paramount importance to ALISON is the quality of the learning. The presentation can even be a little dull, but if the content is extremely well written and pedagogically sharp (i.e. well-structured from a learner’s point of view), we will favour it.
We publish video for some topics of learning. Ideally, courses are provided with varying presentation formats, both to provide variety for the learner and to assist individual learning styles. We like audio and text side by side to enable those for whom English, our dominant language, is not their native tongue. This also assists the comprehension skills for native English speakers.
With all content, we ask the providers to supply us with assessments so we can test learners in their educational achievement. If we need to do this for the publisher, we charge a fee.
