Google SketchUp is a free 3D modelling program designed for engineers, such as architects and civil and mechanical engineers, as well as graphic artists involved in filmmaking and game developing. In this free online course you will learn the fundamentals of SketchUp. Each video is a mini-project that will introduce new tools and essential techniques to the SketchUp work flow. You will be introduced to the navigation tools so you can orbit, pan and zoom around your model, then create a simple house with a few drawing and modification tools. Accelerate your work process by creating a more detailed house with some drawing tips and the follow-me and offset tools. The course also focuses on an interior space. You will use the tape measure tool to create reference edges, learn more about the offset and push/ pull tools, copy objects and finally paint surfaces and bring in additional models from the Google 3D Warehouse.
