The British Computer Society (BCS) Level 2 Certificate for IT Users (ECDL Part 2) is designed to give a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of computer use for candidates wishing to gain a qualification. The qualification is made up of five units. Certain units of the qualification map directly to ECDL.

Unit E - Using IT requires the candidate to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a series of theoretical elements such as legal issues associated with computing, health and safety and good practice. Additionally the candidate will be required to demonstrate their understanding of integration between computer applications and the relevance of each to everyday tasks. This unit is assessed using a multiple-choice test in a similar way to Module 1. Please note that the pass rate for Unit E is 80%, whereas the pass rate for all other modules is 75%.
