Fundamentals of Anatomy - Hip and Lower Limb

Humans use their legs for a wide variety of activities such as standing, running, dancing, sitting, jumping or kicking and the ranges of movement in hip joint can move the leg through extension, flexion, adduction and abduction, medial rotation and lateral rotation. The muscles, ligaments and joints found in the hip and leg make it a powerful and flexible limb. In this free online anatomy course you will examine the lower limb from the hip down to the foot. Each area is dissected using 3D software to present all the various anatomical structures such as muscles, ligaments and bones which make up the hip, leg and foot. This free online anatomy course will be of great interest to medical, physiotherapy and science students who would like a greater knowledge and understanding of the anatomy of the hip and lower limb, and also to all learners who would like to explore the anatomical structure of the human body.

Course Topic: Muscles of the Gluteal Region - Part 1
Comment: I am really impressed with this course - clear and easy to understand. In the section about the hip, the terminology was printed on screen during the tutorial which was really useful. However, in the Gluteal Region section the terminology is spoken but not written - personally I would benefit from seeing the words spelt correctly onscreen as they are discussed. 2012-12-16 15:12:10
